The District Administration of Anantnag has intensified its crackdown on drug peddlers and violators of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. On Saturday, authorities demolished 15 illegal structures in a major enforcement drive at Waghama, Bijbehara.
This operation forms part of the ongoing 100-Day intensified Nasha Mukt J&K Campaign. Officials reaffirmed their commitment to dismantling narcotics networks and eliminating assets linked to drug trafficking.
In a collaborative effort, revenue authorities, with support from the police department, demolished the illegal structures. This included 15 shops, which had been unlawfully constructed on State and Kahcharai land within Khasra Nos. 2494 (min) and 2495 (min) in Estate Waghama. Authorities linked these structures to individuals involved in NDPS Act violations.
The operation significantly contributed to the retrieval of encroached State and Kahcharai land, showcasing the administration’s concerted efforts to reclaim public property from illegal occupation.
Reinforcing a zero-tolerance policy, the District Administration assured the public of sustained action against drug peddlers, narcotics networks, and unlawful encroachments throughout the ongoing campaign. Officials emphasized that dismantling illegal properties linked with the drug trade is a critical strategy to disrupt narcotics supply chains in the district.
Furthermore, the administration has issued a stern warning: anyone found engaged in drug-related activities or illegal encroachments will face stringent legal action in the near future. This proactive approach signals the commitment to preserving community integrity and public safety amidst growing concerns of drug abuse in the region.
As part of the 100-Day Nasha Mukt J&K Campaign, the District Administration aims not only to combat drug-related crimes but also to raise awareness about the dangers of substance abuse. Local officials plan to conduct community outreach programs that educate residents about the ill effects of narcotics.
In conclusion, the demolition of these 15 illegal structures represents a pivotal step in Anantnag’s fight against drugs. The initiative reflects a rigorous commitment to restoring law and order, ensuring that the community remains safe from the adverse effects of narcotics. The administration’s vigilant stance aims to create a drug-free environment, paving the way for a healthier future.
